2025 ANNUAL STATE CONFERENCE

May 30, 2025 at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center, Roanoke, VA 

Each year the Virginia Network sponsors a statewide conference serving women in a wide range of roles in higher education, including graduate students. The annual conference is designed for women who serve the varied and diverse institutions and agencies of higher education in the Commonwealth and provides opportunities for networking, collaboration, and sharing information about the national, state, and regional issues affecting higher education today. The Network has been particularly interested in identifying and developing the careers of women from diverse backgrounds and five times has focused the annual conference on critical issues for women of color.

Mark your calendar TODAY for this year’s conference on May 30, 2025 at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center. We also invite you to consider traveling to Roanoke early and staying for the weekend. We will be publishing details of all of the wonderful, engaging activities that are happening in the local area around conference time, so why not just make a mini-vacation out of it!?

Call for session proposals: Share your experiences, advice, and success stories to empower others to chart their own course "Among the Stars."  We are seeking session proposals that will engage participants and help them build their networks and navigate career paths in academia and higher education.  The deadline for proposal submission is March 14, 2025. The Virginia Network for Women in Higher Education Outstanding Leadership Award will recognize an outstanding woman leader who has made significant contributions to higher education in Virginia. By recognizing outstanding women in Virginia higher education, we create an environment that supports the development and promotion of women leaders. The deadline for submissions is March 3, 2025.
